Natural and Man Made Disasters
At this point the National Guard and Red Cross will begin to take over all food distribution. It now simply means that you will have no time to secure a personal food supply for yourself and loved ones. Prepare now so the system won't have to prepare for you.
URBAN DISASTERS
No one knows what any urban emergency will bring. What everyone does know is that something will happen. Getting ready for any emergency is much like having a spare tire in your car. No one expects a flat but we carry the spare and the tools regardless. It's considered prudent to have that spare... just as you have auto and home insurance and many other safeguards. For some reason food storage is ignored. In urban areas, you can go to your local supermarket and stock up. You can plan and build your reserves over time. Sad to say that most people won't get the message until they go to the store and start to see empty shelves. Currently only abou 7% of the people are prepared for a disaster. Most people know that times are hard, but far to many don't realize how much harder times are going to get.
NATURAL DISASTERSToday natural disasters are happening with increasing frequency. Severe droughts are currently plaguing the entire United States and food supplies are rapidly dwindling. When you have your own food reserves, you won't have to wait in long lines with frightened, frantic, hungry and confused people, or wait until the Red Cross or the National Guard gets to your location. If in fact they ever do, which is most unlikely in a major disaster event.
Natural disasters are common all over the country, and a plan is like insurance. No one wants to pay for it but it is a necessity today . No food, no survival. That has to be your mindset... So you need to prepare ASAP.
MAN-MADE DISASTERSWe are now hearing about these daily. Massive floods do to man made levees, 911, bridges collapsing etc. But the biggest man-made disaster ever, nuclear biological and chemical warfare, is an ever present global threat. If food production and/or food delivery is ever disrupted, no matter how minor the disruption, chaos will grip the entire US. When people can't get even the basics like food and water, crime will begin to rise.
There is only about a 3 day supply of food in most supermarkets in the US. If supply trucks stop or can't make regular deliveries you will be out of luck. However, for families, groups or individuals who are prepared with their own food, water, survival and medical supplies, you will have a greater chance of survival and you will be far ahead of the pending chaos that is to come.
